La semana de la moda de París sucedió hace un par de semanas, marcando el fin de las cuatro mas importantes semanas de la moda (NY, Londres, Milán, París) trayendo consido muchas sorpresas y con una fuerza drástica. Y es que parece que el creciente antojo por lo dramático y teatral ha seguido creciendo incluso más rápido que antes, con un énfasis en atrevidos y exagerados volúmenes y una gran atención al detalle cuando de cualidades narrativas se trata, que se han convertido en los dos más importantes ingredientes de un show exitoso.

La moda de ahora, tal vez bajo el efecto de  la nostalgia que ha llenado la cultura popular en años recientes, de repente parece regresar a algunos ideales  de los tiempos de galliano y McQueen (aunque con un bastante más  humor)  y este renacimiento podría ser el tiempo más divertido y emocionante para la moda en un tiempo. 

Con todo esto en mente, les traemos unos ejemplos de lo más entretenido  y emocionante de la última temporada de fashion weeks, con la intención de probar que el entretenimiento ha vuelto a las pasarelas. 

Paris fashion week happened a few weeks ago marking the end of the four  most important fashion weeks (NY, London, Milan, Paris) bringing to the table so many antics and with such a drastic force. It seems that the increasing craving for drama and entertaintmen has kept growing, even faster than before, with bold, wacky, very couture shapes and an amazing attention to detail when it comes to narrative qualities becoming the two main ingredients of every successful show. 

Maybe fashion is now under the effect of the wave of nostalgia that has filled popular culture in recent years, as it seems to return to many of the ideals of the times of McQueen and Galliano (although with much more humor) and this renaissance could mean the most fun and exciting time in recent years for fashion. 

with all this in mind we bring you some of the most fun moments of the latest ready to wear fashion weeks, in order to prove that entertaintment is back on the runway.

Después de un buen tiempo con un enfoque minimalista  respecto a los accesorios nos encontramos en ese momento inevitable del ciclo de la vida en la moda en el que el contraste se convierte en necesarios, y como pasó con las minifaldas en los 60, y la respuesta a ellas de los 70 con sus largas faldas hasta el piso, ha llegado el tiempo de volver a darle algo de estrellato a nuestros accesorios. 

After some time with a minimalist approach to accesories, we find ourselves in that inevitable time in the circle of life, which is the need for contrast, and the time has come to go crazy on accesories. 

Han aparecido cosas polémicas como los mega Uggs, o los Crocs de plataforma de Balenciaga, o los Crocs enjoyados de Christopher Kane, los cuales contrastan grandemente con las sencillas zapatillas que habíamos visto en temporadas pasadas, también se han estado viendo cosas más deleitosas como las botas brillantes de Saint Laurent o todo el brillo y lentejuelas que cubren todo lo que pueden, o el animal print que se puede ver en todos los accesorios imaginables,  después de los mules mate y flats que veíamos antes.

Controversial things have appeared on stage, like the mega Ugg boots, or the platform Crocs of Balenciaga, or the bejeweled Crocs of Christopher Kane, which contrast greatly with the simple sneakers we had been seeing on past runway shows, we have also been seeing more delightful things like Saint Laurent's gloittering boots, and the animal print that has appeared everywhere, after all the mate mules and flats we had been seeing. 

Los bolsos, aretes, collares y demás están más grandes que nunca y parece que "Menos es más" está perdiendo vigencia en estos tiempos, así como los ideales de practicidad en los que habitaba la industria hace solo un par de años. 

Bags, earrings, necklaces and everything else looks bigger tan ever, as it seems that "less is more" is losing its relevance, just like the ideals of practicality that the industry lived by just a few years ago. 

Los Shows

Cuando Galliano y McQueen aparecieron en escena (literalmente) causaron  una revolución que cambió la perspectiva de la  pasarela de ser una idea comercial a una forma de entretenimiento, elevado y tan bien producido como una película o una obra de teatro. 

When Galliano and McQueen appeared they caused a revolution that changed the perspective on runways, from a commercial idea to a kind of entertaintment, as  elevated and well produced as a movie or a play. 

Gucci

Si la pregunta es quien es  un diseñador que representa el twist contemporáneo de la puesta en escena de los finales 90s e inicios de los 2000 Alessandro Michele sería la respuesta. 

Su último desfile para Gucci va a ser recordado por un buen tiempo, ha sido toda una travesía con nudos y plot twists, con su mezcla de influencias e inspiraciones, desde china y el medio oriente, hasta el escalofriante escenario clínico, el polémico debate sobre el uso de ítems religiosos en moda, y no olvidemos las cabezas y los dragones. 

If the question is who is a designer that represents the contemporary twist on the míse en sen of the late 90s and early 200s, then Alessandro Michele would be the answer.

his last collection for Gucci is going to be remembered for some time, a story with twists and turns, with its mixed cultural influences, the creepy set, the polemic debate about the use of religious ítems in fashion and who can forger the heads and dragons. 

Marc Jacobs

Este show habría sido el favorito de Carmen San Diego, con los sombreros, los colores sacados de arte Memphis, los hombros exagerados y las bufandas.

This show would be Carmen San Diego's favorite, with its wide hats, Memphis art colors, big shouldered coats and scarfs. 

Calvin  Klein

Calvin Klein es sinónimo de minimalismo, y aunque el no se identifique con el término muchos llaman a Raf Simmons un minimalista también. Si bien esta colección tuvo su usual sentido de limpieza, fue una explosión de texturas, colores y motivos, desde los Looney Tunes hasta tocados de tejidos y elementos metálicos de aspecto retro.  

Although Calvin Klein is known for its Minimalism, and Raf Simmons too (although he does not approve of the term when referred to him) This collection is anything but, with looney tunes, knitted headwear and retro metallics from outer space. 

Erdem

Terminemos con el postre, los desfiles de Erdem tienen una suavidad romántica muy especial, porque está hecha de una forma que solo Erdem puede hacer. Su fidelidad al floral suele ser destacada, pero más allá de eso, sus sets y personajes dicen mucho más, especialmente ahora que estos se han hecho más elaborados y arriesgados.

Este desfile trajo una sensibilidad vintage que ya conocíamos y la volvió mágica a través de bordados, texturas, brillos y joyas de fantasía, tanto en la ropa como en la modelo. Erdem no teme al accesorizar, y tiene el talento de hacer que nunca se vea de mal gusto, al contrario, sus looks son más dulces mientras más elementos añada. 

So let's finish with dessert, Erdem has been known for its unique, quirky  romanticism  and its love of florals, but we should also note its love for story and characters, specially now that its developing to other levels.

This collection had a vintage sensitivity full of embroidery, textures, shine, and enough bling to make you go blind, but Erdem is not afraid of heavy accesorizing, he's got a talent for never making it look tacky, on the contrary, his looks look much more sweeter when there are many elements at play.  

Tal vez sea la nostalgia, tal vez sea el aburrimiento o las ganas de alejarnos de la seriedad que rodea al mundo ahora, tal vez es esta idea de "being extra" que ha aparecido en nuestra cultura popular o nuestro deseo de tener cosas a las cuales gritar "yaaas" sea lo que sea, parecemos estar a las puertas de una moda que se atreve a ser un poco más divertida que antes, y eso debe ser algo bueno. 

So maybe its the nostalgia, maybe its boredom or a way to get away of the seriousness of the crazy world that is surrounding us right now, maybe its this idea of being extra that has gained so much weight in pop culture or the desire to have things to scream "yaaas" at, whatever it is, it seems we are looking at fashion that dares to be more fun tan before, and that must be good.
